It's an amazing thing to watch your friends "grow up", isn't it? You know... when they take that next step in life that shifts your perception of them from being the funny kid you played with on the playground to a real life adult! Now don't get me wrong, I totally didn't think my friends and I would stay Toys-R-Us kids forever! I guess it's just the uncertainty of when this change is going to happen. We all have our own path and it's amazing to be able to watch some of your friends reach certain milestones before you. I feel, for myself, it makes you appreciate the milestone. It builds a certain level of excited in you.

This year I had the amazing pleasure to watch two close friends of mine start a new path... Parenthood. It's truly a miracle to watch two persons create another human being. There's a touch of irony though, when you think about it. The desire for kids could be viewed as selfish - you want them because YOU want them. But then in making that one selfish decision, you have to become very selfless. Ironic!

Watching my friends, Holly and Mark, decide to start a family was definitely awe-inspiring. Seeing them prepare for their little girl's arrival and how much she was already adored by so many people, adds to how amazing this experience is. On 25 April I was able to visit Miss Olivia for the second time and capture some gorgeous images. It is hard to believe that she was only 6 days old! She was oh so tiny, with beautifully long lashes, and smelt so sweet, just as newborns do :) She was the perfect little model and made mommy and daddy very happy!
